The Lion’s Gate Adventure

I completed my first solo, tiny adventure! Go me! I attended the Lion’s Gate group meditation at a local yoga studio last evening. So glad (and proud) I did!

I have meditated on my own. Sometimes when I get overwhelmed, I sit and close my eyes. I try to take note of each body part and make it as comfortable as possible. I start with my head and continue through to my toes. This was something I started doing in my younger years as an innate calming technique. I never considered it meditating, until recently.

My experience last night, with a group and a guide, was much different, and … so much better! I entered the yoga studio a minute or so before “go time” as is my mode of operation. (The closer I arrive to start time, the less small talk I have to take part in). I chose a comfy blanket and pillow in the back of the studio. (So nice that it was pre set up for us!) I smiled at the friendly gal next to me, sat down and pressed my back to the cool wall.

Our guide asked a few opening questions. “Any one new?” To my surprise, 8 other people raised their hands. Other tiny adventurers I thought! Our guide explained that 8/8 is Lions Gate and the best day of the entire year to bring manifestations to fruition. She also explained that meditating with a group, amplified the effect. We are stronger together. Our good intentions can achieve so much more, if we work in a group, which is true in most any aspect of life. Our guide asked us to choose an image that exemplified what we want… a better relationship with our spouse…a new office building…more connection with people… good conversation with our teenager…less back pain. I chose my adventurous image, closed my eyes, manifested the shit out of my dreams and put every drop of consciousness into what I wanted.

We were lucky to be treated to some singing bowls as we sat…30 minutes seemed like 5 and almost too quickly, the meditation was complete. The room glowed and all participants shared warm, knowing smiles with each other. It was an inspiring way to end an evening and my first tiny adventure. I cannot wait to see where I am lead next…
